  • 1/2 cup fresh chopped turmeric root
  • 1/2 cup fresh chopped ginger root
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1/2 cup of lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper*
  1. Add the turmeric, ginger and water to a blender and blitz until smooth.
  2. Add the turmeric mix to a small saucepan or pot on medium heat and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. Allow the turmeric mix to cool.
  4. Add the lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper and stir to combine.
  5. Refrigerate this mix in one or two airtight jars. It will keep for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.

* The cayenne pepper is optional however it does improve the bioavailability of the turmeric!
